Interesting guitar. The seller provided enough info on the serial number -- "2V8xx" -- to deduce that it was made in late 1959 or early 1960.

Step away from the BIN button! $25K -- Yikes!

Wow! Now that old Capri has been played! Nice wood on that! I agree with Ron, not a '58, probably a '60. $25K? No way. What would you pay for this Capri? 8)

That is insanity.

Maybe '58's are worth more.....but I remember really really nice '59 and '60 360 Capri's going for like $7K or so a year ago. That would be a big jump up to the '58. In that condition, I think it's nuts. Even mint wouldn't be $25K.....

It would seem that most '58 guitars are more coveted than the next couple of years, but, even taking that into consideration, the seller does seem wildly optimistic...

There are photos in the Smith book that shows an acoustic with an inlay at the first fret, along with both early Jazzbos having them, one of which is actually a split black/white block.
