That would be Grant Arthur's 21 fretter wouldn't it Kevin?
That one is high on my list of "if I won the lottery, I'd wave a mountain of cash under his nose" basses!

I agree, one wonderful Burgundy. The carpet really sets it off too. Thanks for posting, Kev. I saved that one.

Burgundy: Sexiest RIC color EVER!
I will never understand why it went out of production... I personally don't like the "blue" color in anything, so I always feel some disapointment when I see that midnight blue is there, and Burgundy is not...
Cheers!

The Midnight Blue is actually a stunning color, and I'm not a blue lover. AzureGlo, now that one doesn't do it for me, but there are many devotees of AzureGlo so there you go.
But it would be nice to have Burgundy available again. Maybe when the backlog is managable.... I can only imagine BG with Eric in control. Twould be something to see.

I was not saying MB doesn't look nice, it is a nice finish, but you get the idea...
And I agree to that 100% having seen a couple of the recent FG coming out, a BG would be a "sell your soul for"...
C'mon Mr. Hall, the people is asking for it!!! It's just a color!!
Cheers!
PS: Not that I could afford one if it came out again lol!

I have a 1974 Rickenbacker 4000 in that exact finish, ie Burgundyglo! It is set neck and sounds amazing! Bought it in 1978 for $300 with the original case, I am SO happy I never sold it.

That's the best 4001 I've seen in BG. Wonderful contrast with the MOP inlays. Killer bass..
John Williams's old 68 4005 in BG was hugely impressive too...I have a pic of it somewhere...

Agreed!
My 21 fretter needs a good re-fin one of these days and Grant's bass is certainly an inspiration!

The '71 is an unbelievably sweet instrument to behold in person. Tony wisely strung it up with TI flats; consequently, the sound and feel were second to none. One of the best Rick basses I've had the pleasure of playing. Thanks T.
