Talked to my friend today he's the one with the 330 in Fireglow and he offered me
the Rick 330 for my guitar and $300.00. That guitar as I said sounds great thru my
Twin Reverb so now I have to think do I want to do this or just save and buy the
330 in Mapleglow from the music store for $1450.00. :?

You don't mention what "your guitar" actually is...

Paul I guess you could call this my other guitar its a G&L Asat Classic
I call it Gretsch Orange. The body is Swamp Ash with a Maple neck and
fret board. I call it my Tom Petty phase or my George Harrison Let It Be
phase 8) I know my Twin Reverb isn't a Silver Face but my 40th Anniversary
reissue works just fine. I like having two guitars one solid body and one
hollow body and that would cover all the sounds that I want :D

I just got back from the music store and the 330 in Mapleglo that I looked
at was sold. They did have another one which I played and it needed to be
setup. They also had a set of Toaster Pickups that they would change out
if I wanted them and thinking about it on my way home that's what I'm
going to do. So maybe by next weekend I can go back and get the new
330 in Mapleglo with the VP and I was the first one to play it out of the
box 8)

In the first half of 2010 I will have the money for
the new guitar. I have looked at a lot of different
ones from Rickenbacker, Parker, Steinberger, Vox
reissues, Phantom Guitar Works, G&L and Fender.
I did play a new 330 and I didn't like the thickness
of the neck profile so I still have to decide on what
to buy.

After a lot of things gone wrong yesterday my wife said it was (OK) get another
guitar 8) I had the money before and my car broke down so that got fixed started
saving again and today I went and looked at a couple 360's & 330's and I know one
person who is selling a 350V63 its from 05. What I noticed about the 360 & 330 is
that each neck felt different now if the necks are cut on an CNC Machine wouldn't
they feel the same :?: I don't know if these guitars were setup I played a 360 Fireglow
and a Mapleglow and the Mapleglow felt better to play. Then I played a 330 in Fireglow
and Jetglow and it was ok but I liked the 360 Mapleglow the best. The one Rickenbacker
that I would like to find when I have the money is a reissue 1997 or my friends 350V63
if he comes down on the price. My range is around $1600.00

Guitars for me are now put on hold two weeks ago I was brought in the
HR office and was given a letter to read that said due to company restructuring
my job was eliminated :( At 57 I'm finding it hard to find work but I'm looking
and one place I looked at they didn't want to pay that much.

Sorry to hear that Lou. That is a tough position to be in at any age but it is even tougher when you are on the march towards retirement. I hope it all works out for you.

I have to a few things have changed for me on 6/14/10
I was call into HR. They gave me a letter stating that my
job was eliminated due to company restructuring. At 57
I have to start all over again looking for a job I will be
getting unemployment. The guitar that I had and my
Twin Reverb are now sold had to pay bills. A friend of
mine is letting take one of his guitars till I find work.
Its not a Rickenbacker because he doesn't own one
but now I have something to play. If I go with Rickenbacker
it will either be a 350V63 Fireglow, Mapleglow, or Jetglow
or a 1997 in Fireglow,or Mapleglow. Finding a 1997 in my
price range will be a bit harder to do. Now on the amp side
I like the reissue Fender 59 Bassman LTD, Tone King Imperial
both have (NO) master volume. The one Vox Amp that looks
good is the one from Northcoast Music the new Guardsman.
Does anyone here play thru that amp?

I have a NCM "Hong Kong" amp. Same specs as the Guardsman amp, different cab style and the speaker cab is open-backed instead of closed.

Nice, clean, modern, versatile amp with plenty of power. Don't expect a tube VOX sound, though.

Things are now getting better I got a new job today 8)
I start next Monday. The starting pay is the same as my
last job so I didn't loose any money. Now I will have to
start saving for the new Guitar & Amp :D

Congratulations! That is great news. Best of luck and hopefully the guitar/amp money will be there much sooner than later.

Great news, Lou. I'm pleased that this story has a happy ending. Of course, it will be even happier when you buy your next Rickenbacker! :D
