The top 800 looks like the clear coat has yellowed, making it appear a bit more green than the vibrant blue 800 in your comparison shot. In that picture it looks very close to a fender Lake Placid Blue. I guess it could be the lighting as well.

Do you have any more photos of the 600? I couldn't find it on the register.

They're the same color; here's the pair with the same camera (and slightly different lighting):

So the guitar laying next to the cloverfield green 400 is the guitar pictured here on the bottom? That's amazing.

I would love to refinish a guitar in that color, and get it just right.. :)

Well, no: in the "both" photo, the top guitar is the 600, the bottom guitar is the 800. But yes, all the 600 photos are of the same guitar.

Obviously, colors will look different with different cameras and different lights. But even a cell phone camera, a shaky hand, and bad lighting will show that Cloverfield and Turquoise Blue aren't very similar...

Thanks for the info and the additional photo. Are those your combos? Those are beautiful.

Did the 600/800/850's use both gold andonized aluminum and gold painted plastic guards, at different times?

Yes, thanks.

From what I've seen, the 'thick body' 600's and 800's have the aluminum guards, and the 'thin body' ones have plastic.

I'm going to say that the 850's only had plastic?

Were the thick bodies the ones with routing, with the solid bodies being thinner?

There is a photo of one in the Smith book. What you see are two sets of shoe mounting screws, not much else, really.
