Congrats, Scott!

While we await pictures of your new acquisition, here's an 'artsy' shot of my 660/6 DCM 75th Anniversary ...

It looks almost Jetglo with the lighting at that angle; here's a shot of it taken in sunlight:

Here's a pic of the weird TRC that doesn't fit. As you can see, it's bowed up...doesn't lay flat on the headstock. The strings are actually touching it. I think I'm going to call RIC about this. I can't believe it was allowed to leave the factory like this. I'm also surprised that Chris at POTR didn't mention it when we made the trade. Love the guitar, confused about the TRC.

Scott, my interpretation is that the 'tip' screw hole is misplaced in the headstock ... if that's the case, then a different TRC won't help, because its hole won't line up with the one in the headstock, either.

If you want to try something, remove the 'tip' screw and see whether the TRC will lie down flat, and if it does, check the alignment of the hole in the TRC with the one in the headstock.

Agreed that is probably the problem but how did that get past QC? Didn't whoever put the TRC on realize that it wasn't right? I would certainly think so. Is it a playablility issue, no...but when I pay around 2K for an instrument, I wouldn't expect it to be allowed to leave the factory like that . Maybe I'm splitting hairs here but it does bother me.

Scott, I can understand your disappointment that things aren’t perfect, but life rarely is. I think that Rickenbacker get as close to it as anybody and in fairness to them maybe this isn’t the right way to approach a solution – the common experience here is that they do sort things, so why not give them a chance to address it.

I have skewed my TRCs before when I replaced them after adjustments - try undoing all the screws and then re-doing them, but starting with the tip one. It might just straighten things out.

In the meantime I’ve been waiting patiently for some full-on 660 Jetglo picture action, so lets be having some massive new images of your geetar! (please) :D

Pics coming this weekend......other than the TRC thing, it's an AMAZING guitar. I can't say enough great things about it. I just spent a good amount of $$ to buy some Thomastik strings for her and my bass....I really do love this guitar, flaw or not. :D
