Sorry to hear that Nol. Too bad you moved back up north, IRWO just added a 6th man! That could have been you! You mentioned your studio mic being 1200 miles away, do you want me to pick it up for you and mail it up? Just pm me if so.

I just finally gave this a listen. Though they're not a hi end audiophile recordings, I like the tunes and tones.

Good stuff, Miles, keep it going!

Nolan reached out to me by PM when I posted some of my own work here and he was quick to show me much of his material--from the begin I was really struck by how he could put a well-crafted tune together. That's why I really admire him.

wow I was off for a few days and poof tons of replies. Ok so I'll address some stuff now :D

Firstly thank all of you for the positive feedback it means a lot to me really. Ok so here we go.

Jdog: I actually have my mic now. Its sitting in my room currently. However, my interface's XLR input is damaged and won't read the signal properly so my very expensive GXL2200 is useless to me right now. So I think I'll have to find another alternative and use a Beta 57/8 or something. I dunno. However, thanks to your tweekage of my 4003 it sounds so unbelievably good so thank you very very much my friend.

Everyone in the middle: The auido quality is **** because I'm using a LITE version of Ableton Live 8 so it limits me to 8 tracks and I can't combine tracks or master anything properly because of it, so everything sounds airy and sort of squashed. It sucks but I'll get a better unit and software soon and things will be better!!

Things have been **** for me musically because for over a month I wasn't playing and I was going through some stuff with my now ended relationship. Compounding that with conflicting schedules for everyone involved in the project, I just sort of grew tired of it . . .

. . . HOWEVER!!!!!!!!! There's a new song up on the page. Its in very rough demo stage its called "This is Malarky(Sarah)". Like I said I was going through a rough time, and I was listening to a lot of Silverchair, so don't be utterly shocked if it sounds similiar. I'm curious to see what the final product of this song will be like, but um . . . cheers to soldiering on alone!!!

Josh: You're still way too kind to me mate! Hope all is well.

Another rough demo went up tonight the song is called "Nichols and Dames". Its very rough I'm not satisfied in the bass tone its a bit blarpy on the up-pick but its a decent modern sound. I'm just glad it didn't turn out like P bass or something. I'll have to work the mid range a but more and call in the verdict. Thank you all again for your support

The new demo is so good!
It's got a really pschedelic vibe going on, which is right up my street.
I think the vocal arrangement is brilliant, and I'm not sure if it was intentional or how you did it, but the effect on the vocals sounds like there's some sort of reverse malarkey going on.
Great stuff. :D

If I'm correct in my thinking here, I think I know which part about reversing you're talking about. It was actually an unintentional mistake. I actually lost my place and forgot what I was singing because I was being distracted by my muse (who was sending me messages at that moment) and then when I played it back I was like "Well that was cool" and I left it . Kind of funny looking back at it. I really don't like the bass tone though. It didn't cut cleanly and when I ran it through the head phones and then through my speaker system is was very bottom end heavy and very blarping. When I clean it up I'll have to fix that indeed. Thank you for the positive feedback.

Finally I solved the mystery of the "Blarp" I've been getting. I forgot a while back when I was in Florida that I had backed off the high side of the bridge pickup and that the low side was still quite close to the strings. So now what I've down is backed the low side to match the high side and balanced the equation as it were. Now I get a nice smooth sound without the harsh gravelly attack on the up-pick. I've some new stuff I'm working on, I'll keep those interested, posted
