Does your Rickenbacker bass fit in your car?

I drive a Honda CR-V... obviously no problems there. But I'm thinking of switching to a Civic. Any issues with those, anyone?

I don't know about the modern civic, but with mine, which is twelve years old, I can't fit the hsc in my boot.

This may sound silly, but maybe take the case along on your test drive and see if it fits, that way you can make an informed choice. Is that going too far?

I used to drive a '01 CR-V, but traded it in for a '09 Fit Sport last year. I was considering a Civic but I prefer a hatchback which the Civic does not come in. The trunk lid on the Civic is wide but very short making it tough to fit an amp. The Fit is much larger inside than it's outside dimensions make it look. Make sure you try one of those, Joshua.

I do really like the Fit's aesthetic! Will do. Plus my wife (a total car nut) loves them. By the way, my CR-V is also a 2001. I love it, I just don't utilize its roomy space all that much to justify the (admittedly great for a crossover) gas mileage. But when I do gig or something it definitely comes in handy, so I don't want to sacrifice too much of that space.

last year when i was still driving my 15 year old miata,it was one bass at a time in the passenger seat,room for a small amp in the trunk. i traded it in for a used scion xb (the original "cool" ( ) one) and now i really need to buy about 20 more ricks to try to fill it....(yeah right) seriously,it is a great car,very small outside,HUGE inside....its the automobile version of the 5th dimension.......i did drive the fit,a great handling car with extreme versatility in the way you can rearrange the interior,but it had the very low seating similar to the miata,that my old back was not too happy with.

I never tried to fit my bass in our present car. In fact a friend brought it over years ago and it has never left the house. I do have my doubts if it would fit in our Ion unless one of the rear seats was folded down. In fact I am not so sure the 360 would fit in the trunk without folding down a seat. The passenger compartment is roomy especially for a small car but the trunk is small.

Yes. '08 Mustang GT. Fits width-wise, I don't need to fold down the rear seat.

The Toyota Camery holds my little 4x10 cab in the trunk with two amp heads, junk bags & bass pedals. My 2x15 cab just fits in the back seat and three basses behind the front seats with bass stand and sometimes a rack of lights.... it's tight but works.

When we went to MARF III last November,we fit 7 various Ricks plus two multi instrument stands and an assortment of food, luggage, etc. in the Fit.

I am impressed. How's the upholstery look? I put a 4x10 Ampeg cab in the back seat of my Impala (bottom seat removed) and banged through the vinyl on the handle and scuffed the leather seat back a bit. Last time for that! Oh, I can get 4 basses in the trunk and whole lot more than I own in the back seat.

I buy used Lincoln town cars, still have the 1993 town car I bought 4 years ago, plenty of trunk space fits my svt and several basses, it has a 5 body trunk...

Jeff, the trunk on a Town Car could fit a hot tub if the suspension would handle it. The trunk in the Continental I had was pretty huge too.
