I agree, I just haven't had the luck to come across an FG and cash at the same time...if I had my choice for my next Ric, it'd either be an FG or BBR.

Heh-heh... I knew the BBR was still "haunting" you!!!pflash4001 wrote:I agree, I just haven't had the luck to come across an FG and cash at the same time...if I had my choice for my next Ric, it'd either be an FG or BBR.
You're right, Jim. Guess I'll go Fireglo anyway, supposingly I have the choice. When I'm ready money-wise, I'll buy what I'll find. There are not many brand new RICs in stock in Europe these days. Hopefully I'll have a bit of choice.thx1955 wrote:As an unbiased collector, I'd say Fireglo is just about the only colour that can be truly said to be unique to Rics, you can get any other colour from the others, no one, I mean no one, (with the the exception of one of our own (Paul Wilczynski) who does who can do a wonderful Fireglo, and Minkglo) can come close to Fireglo, it's Rickenbacker's signature colour. You can still see the wonderful grain on the wood, and the Walnut wings through the lustrous red.
Just my two cents !!
Wishing you'll find music mates soon, Javier. Let's cross fingers for you. These honey basses deserve to be played live again. RIC basses deserve more sightings !pflash4001 wrote:Thanks a lot! I'm a bit frustrated right now. The band I played in split up almost a year ago and I haven't found the right bunch of guys to start playing with yet. I really want to start gigging again! Those basses have been in my bedroom and way too long!
I've seen a few Gibson Les Pauls with a pretty nice "fireglo" finish...as far back as 1959...so I think they might have a few years on Rickenbacker...Just sayin!thx1955 wrote:As an unbiased collector, I'd say Fireglo is just about the only colour that can be truly said to be unique to Rics, you can get any other colour from the others, no one, I mean no one, (with the the exception of one of our own (Paul Wilczynski) who does who can do a wonderful Fireglo, and Minkglo) can come close to Fireglo, it's Rickenbacker's signature colour.
