Re: West Coast Storms
3-hour meeting this morning. Got out at 12:30 in downtown SF and the sun was shining and it was actually warm. Now (2:55 or so) the sky is darkening...pretty nasty.
Re: West Coast Storms
Wow, I wish you guys all the best. Hopefully this won't trigger all the mud slides and such...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: West Coast Storms
Sounds like that old song was right!
"It never rains in California, but when it pours...man it pours"!
Sorry you guys are having all that nasty weather, hopefully it will blow out soon and be back to normal again!

Sadly, I think the Hollister - Santa Cruz - Fremont (The Soggy Triangle) area will have their share of slides and flooding. They've really been taking it on the chin all Winter. It's a little clear here in Marin, momentarily.
All I wanna do is rock!
Re: West Coast Storms
I left San Francisco early Friday morning, it sounds like I missed all the nasty weather!
Hope my Bay Area friends are drying out.

Re: West Coast Storms
There I was today, texting Diane and Paulie from a stairwell at work because of a tornado alert. They made everyone at work get into the center points of the building. I'd heard the tornado started in Paulie's area and it headed northeast. It went just north of us.

Those floods were amazing!8mileshigh wrote:Kenny showed us a picture of the factory yesterday afternoon, which look liked it was floating in a lake!!!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: West Coast Storms
Yeah, the rain was INSANE earlier today-----like all those old movies (or Gilligan's Island), where they are stuck in a storm, and the rain pours in sheets coming sideways.
Add thunder/lightning.....and enough winds to prompt a TORNADO warning.
Somebody sent me this picture today, taken at the Huntinton Beach pier, about 15 miles from my house (as the crow flies...)
:

This is highly unusual for California, and the first time I've seen it in my lifetime...

Hokey Smokes that's some wild weather!
I'm flying down to Ontario tomorrow from Seattle via Oakland...hope they have the water skis fitted to the airplane!
Oddly enough, the weather here in Seattle has been rather nice the past 2 days...it was sunny and :gasp: warm yesterday. A nice break from the ice box in the northeast...

The Lowes - uh - half a block from here, apparently got it. I haven't been up there yet to check it out.
Re: West Coast Storms
What a bunch of whiners. Typical fair for the Midwest's tornado alley.
We showed pretty nasty mudslides on our evening newscast. Sure hope everyone made it okay. Kira, the bilge pump works, right?

What strange weather indeed. Stay safe everyone and I hope all goes well.

Re: West Coast Storms
I lived in Lawrence for a summer. I thought Springfield, MO was bad! Seemed like every other night the clouds would roll in, the visible sky would become green and God would momentarily turn his back on that part of Kansas. And then in 30 minutes everything would be okay. Bizarre.jimk wrote:JimK, currently from Tornado Alley, KS![]()
