this should be questioned in more complicated table - 6 string, 12 string and bass...
and with radius preference , scale, and neck thickness preference as well...
and let's not forget the fret sizes...

e.g.
7.2 radius and 1 5/8 nut doesn't bug me on 12 string with thin neck....
i sure would like modern 360/12 with 1 3/4 nut and thin neck but not with 10 radius...
i'd love short scale bass with very narrow flat neck and big frets
....etc..

someone doing this kind of things for marketing company ? they should be able to put it together including all that : "how likely are you to purchase such item during next five to twelve months?" :)

the result will be same - as always - nothing will change ...if someone wants something different from their RIC they have to either talk to their own luthier if it can be done to the instrument they already own or look for particular year and model that will do the trick for them....

Speaking for myself (being me 6'4" tall and long fingers) sometimes I suffer playing Rickenbacker thin necks, especially on 12 strings models.
But I have maximum respect for Rickenbacker choice to mantain this feature (until I can play them :))

He had the nut replaced, cut with the widest possible spacing, and he said it made a huge difference. That one was Monte Brown with toasters. He sold it a couple of years ago, so someone here may have it, now.
Update--sold to Witty, who sold it to...?

I like the the neck on the 300 series, fits perfect. I think the 1 3/4 fit the bill for the 660/12 for the big hand 12ers out there. But.......

The 660/6 and 650 are crazy wide at the 1 3/4, and the spacing at the 12 fret is just too much. I think these guitars would have been brilliant with either 1 5/8 nut with a wider spacing at the 12th/bridge like a fender, or 1 11/16 with a Gibson type spacing. They over steered the ship on this one, just an opinion.

The small and big store!
