Q:Before we find go any further, I'd like to know what happened to the girl on the picture sleeve of “My Sharona.” I remember hearing somewhere that it was actually Sharona? Was it?
Feiger: Yes.
Q: Do you know what she's doing now?
Feiger: She's a real estate agent.
Q: Are you still in touch with her?
Feiger: I'm good friends with her. I talked to her last week.

Sharona was only 17 when she was immortalized in the Knack's 1979 hit single "My Sharona"

Rest easy, Doug.
I met Berton 15-16 years ago in the Bay Area and the first thing that came to mind was "My Sharona". It was several years after the hit it big, but that song still stands out as one of my all time favorites.

We should do at least of couple of songs from The Knack as a tribute to Doug at the next So Cal mini-con jam.

I hadn't heard about his passing but it is a great loss. That first album was incredible and I've tried to get all of the others since then (they did a really nice cover of "No Matter What" by Badfinger as a bonus track on Re-Zoom).
I got to see them live back in the late 70s at the Orpheum in Memphis. During the early era of light shows and lasers, they came out and played under normal lighting and were just great. One of the definitive highlights of my younger concert experiences. With all the hype surrounding them at the time, it was really cool to see them come out and just play. It also helped that the material was strong enough to allow that.
