Sure is pretty - but is $7500 the typical going rate for these nowadays?

I got mine for much less, of course it was back in the late 90s. I must admit, that this one is better looking than mine - Paul is doing a great job with these and I would love to play one. Was he working at RIC when they were making them for a while in the 90s? I wonder if he made mine... If so, I wish he would of slapped one of those cool pickgaurds on it.

No, Olivia's price is a bit of a stretch.

Paul was not an employee of RIC at any time, IIRC. (Paul, correct me if I am wrong.)

It seems like prices for Ricks are consistently higher in the UK - are they even harder to come by over there?

Paul has an arrangement with RIC to build the acoustic Ricks and raised his prices along with RIC in late 2007. IMO, OV's offer price (Paul will correct me) is not too far removed from what one would have to pay to commission a 700C today with a full set of appointments. And then there would be the small matter of the wait until it was built.

Trust me - I've already drooled over the pictures on the website.

Like I said, this guitar is definitely a looker, and I would love to get a chance to play one of Paul's instruments. They all look more deluxe that mine! I haven't been able to post a pic of my 700C, but the 700C (MG) at the bottom of this website is what mine looks like:

As to your question as to the going rate for an acoustic Rick, afar as I am aware, they are few and far between so pricing is hard to estimate. I hardly ever see them on ebay. IIRC, there was one in Australia about a year ago that went for $3500 or so. There was also the damaged one recently on ebay from an Asian seller, but that was distressed-priced and not truly reflective of market.

If I ever sold mine (which I probably won't), it might have to be "distressed-priced" - it's been through a lot. It's hasn't seen a lot of action recently, though.

I apparently have one in Paul's paint booth as we speak. The anticipation is killing me. It will be a 12-string. I also own a 730L that I got from POTR a few years back. Love that one. It is my favorite RIC to play.

It's seen in this photo. The ones that I am holding have sadly moved on.
