yes, i think they have similar sound. my telecaster-lovin' brother played the ric and had the same sentiment.

i just dig having the ric from the standpoint of the "ric mystique" and the fact that rics are a part of americana. plus, it's fun to play and sounds great!

in fact, the only non-usa made piece of gear i have is my fender superchamp xd amp. when i got back into guitar last year after a many year layoff, i made it my business to buy only american stuff, the amp notwithstanding. started with a gibbie es-335. now, several mia fenders, gibsons, and t-style/s-style customs later, i'm in the rickenbacker club! :mrgreen:

the bridge pup on the tele thinline is a p90; plus my bro. and i each have 2 conventional teles

I noticed the p90 thats why I made the remark, I actually thought both pups were p90s but now I can see its just the one
