We are going to go try out the 330 and 360. I really love the look of the Fireglo... it's not fair, now I want one... definitely the hole in my guitar collection.

For an introduction to a Rickenbacker guitar after playing mostly acoustic, a FG 330-6 string is the perfect choice IMO. Followed closely by a 360v64 which is also one of my personal faves. Welcome to the forum Joe.

Wow! Tons of interest in 330's here, but little interest in the 'For Sale' forum, where I have a like new FG available. C'mon guys, SOMEBODY get off the fence!

Ah yes, the disadvantage of hanging around Rickenbacker players/owners ... I'd recommend attending a Confluence, but you might get a severe case of RAS from it ...

For a singer/songwriter solo performer, I agree with the majority here, a 330 would be the way to go. Not only for the $ and the tones, but also for the look. Solid or small bodied electrics just don't look right when you're standing up on a stage alone. Give any 12 string Rics that you come across a try as well. I use my 360/12 on solo gigs a lot. It can realy fill a room.

+1 for the 330.
360 might be a bit more comfortable, but if she's used to an acoustic, it probably isn't an issue.

I'll add my vote for a 330 as well. If she can already play full-scale acoustics, then I wouldn't hold out for a short-scale Rick.
Although, I'm sure they'd be easier to play for one with small hands, and look more "right" if the guitarist in question is on the dainty side.

Dunno if this lends any credibility to my post, but I have fairly small hands for a dude. (About 7.5" from wrist joint to the tip of my middle finger, and about 8" from my thumb-tip to pinky-tip when my hand is splayed.) And yet I love the big-neck on my 330!

She picked a Fireglo 330, and has already played out with it... beautiful grain on her guitar.

The 360 Rick is simply the one to get. No doubt, no matter of personal tastes or preference...

Seriously... I like the delux inlays on the 360 and the softer cutaway better. I am betting it would be more comfortable but I've never played a 330 very long. As for the guitar sounding better acoustically (as per PW), I dunno.

Also, I've been switching between my 360 w/ Toasters and my 480 w/ HiGains... back and forth. Our sound guy recently told me the 360 sounded much better and more "... airy." Not a big surprise, you'd think, but I was really digging the 480 and getting a good single coil bass sound out of it.

Finally, after years of tinkering, I now play both pickups all the time and use the 5th knob to roll in and out of the bass sounds. It really makes the guitar versatile. Between that and the channel switch on the amp, I can cover most of what I want to do without a pedal.

Hope this input helps. In any event, kudos to you for steering your song partner in the Rickenbacker direction.

My perfect guitar would be the 360 with a Fishman Acoustic Bridge. If I had that, I'd never play a Fender again. I've even thought of trying to modify their Gibson Power Bridge.
