I made two really good decisions on June 6. The first buying that Rick 15 years ago, and the second getting married last year. Wonder what 15 years of marriage will do to me? :D

I was 15 then, I'm 18 now.

Marriage to the right person is like wine - improves with age. Also like wine, it takes care, the right conditions, and keeping an eye on it.

I agree that the player and instrument settle together after many years of playing.

Congrats! I got my second Rick, a '67 4005 around '84 for $200 or $250, no case. My first was a used 4001 I got in about '74.

In Spring/Summer 1979 I purchased a brand new 4001jg. If memory serves me correctly the cost was $395. I do remember the owner trying to charge me an additional $75 for the case. The salesman , who ironically is now the guitarist for my band pointed out that the case didn't cost him anything, so why was he charging me? That orange felt lined case ended up coming with me at no charge.

I don't have the original sales receipt, but I have the dumb receipt when I traded it even up for a fretless P bass

Happy Anniversary Erik!
