Well, that gives you something to look forward to once you do get a chance to really hear it, doesn't it? I'd love to read a review once you do.

I ask as there have been a few instruments I've bought over the years based mostly on asthetics, which happens on internet purchases, only to find the tone less than stellar. I've also found Rickenbacker to vary more than many other makes, even other "hand made" guitars. Part of the charm and mystery I suppose.

Either way, killer bass you have there. Seeing that black to blueburst they are selling now made me think of it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond this morning!

Tube amps!

It's not the amps that have the problem. It's that potential finish issue when taking a Rick from my nice, warm, 60F house into the music room that's often only 15-20F degrees...

But I've got loads of extra freezer space in the winter...

  No, I don't want to treat them that brutally.

Fortunately, the new place was built in the '80s, not in the '30s so, it actually has modern amenities such as insulation in the walls and central heating! :D I'll be able to leave things set up and ready to go year round! And since I won't be trying to run a full time farm/ranch operation along with a full time "day job", I might even have a few minutes here and there to actually play some music! :D :D :D 8)

That's kind of what I meant, the amps would warm the room up. :)

Probably not sufficiently, just thought it was funny.

Huh, I guess I missed the meaning if the tube amp reference...
Not enough coffee I guess... I'm into the beer now, so I'm good to go...

I'm not sure the power plugs in that room would handle it. Those were put in way back when they only had 2 prongs (no ground) and in the whole room (14'x24'), there are only 3 outlets...

I suppose that it would help, but when it's -40F and the wind is blowing at 50mph, I don't think 20 SVT stacks would help a whole lot...

North Eastern Montana, sometimes known as West Dakota. We're about 40 miles from the Canadian border.

Right now, it's a typical late spring day, 50 degrees, rain, winds blowing 30-35mph, but only gusting to 65... :(

I see. The weather is not like that here in Santa Rosa, but I saw from another thread you used to live here so you know that!

But...

But...

... it's summer. Not spring.

I just LOVE the neck construction on that bass CJ. The first time I saw it that was what held my attention and that's still what grabs me. When you do get time to record some samples please share.
