What pedal to get the "Love Is The Slug" fuzz?

Had a chance to demo the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi and, I liked it so much, I bought it. The nice thing about that pedal is the bass boost. Like a few of you mentioned, certain OD/fuzz pedals make a bass sound like a tinny, distorted electric guitar. I had an OD pedal a few years back which did exactly that and I was very disappointed. The Big Muff's bass boost solves that problem. There is also a "dry" option which allows some of your original tone to be mixed with fuzz. It's quite a versatile pedal and the price is right. Also, they're made in America. Highly recommended!

wetton didn't use the foxx...he used a "cranky old italian fuzz/wah pedal called the dual-sound". excerpt from a guitar player interview. i've seen those go for good bucks on eboy. i bid on one, but only had two arms and three legs ! i lost.

Interesting, as I read somewhere in all my Crimson liner notes (probably from the Great Deceiver box set) a quote from Fripp mentioning Wetton's use of the fOXX. At least I think I remember that.

there are pics of it in his interview showing his moog taurus,a floor lid holding mutron octave divider, dual sound pedal, some other ones, probably switchers , and marshall heads. i think fripp may have used the foxx pedal with his lp black beauty.

I use a Little Big Muff with my Kavkaz and Emenee organ.

I've gone through more bass fuzz/distortion boxes than I care to admit. But I am very happy with this one:

Chris - I saw that pedal online somewhere and was intrigued,I seem to remember it being VERY affordable,too. I got my vt pedal yesterday and overall I love it,it really nails the flip top sound,and sounds great for crunchier tube sounds as well. I am going to try to disconnect my tweeter ,it seems pretty nasty sounding and not in a good way.....on extreme settings I am getting what I consider to be a fuzz -esque tone,so it works for me.

I LOVE my VT Bass pedal. I use it as an "always on" tube growl kinda thing. Love that pedal.
The Sub-lime bass fuzz is very versatile (and very BIG), but has a really nice vintage crunch & retains my low end. A great fuzz pedal....& I've gone through most of 'em.

Re the tech21 vt pedal,playing with some of the more extreme settings, i was getting a very familiar sound,so I started playing "apostrophe" by zappa /jack Bruce.....yep that was it all right! (which sounds KIND of fuzzy to me,but I do see the difference)

Yeah, my original intention was to use the VT for a distortion, but I've found such a sweet spot in between the B-15 setting & the SVT setting (sort of a "fat tube" thing) that I've bypassed the tube preamp on my head & use the VT as a full time tone shaper. Now I can't believe that I ever lived without that thing!

And the Sub-lime seems to have fulfilled my fuzz needs.....
