I don't think that there's any question that Pete was the best bass player they ever had. Listen to his playing on the middle eight of "It's Alright" (the flip side of "You Really Got Me") or the rave ups on "Got Love If You Want It Babe" and "Milk Cow Blues". He has to be up there with Paul Samwell-Smith of the Yardbirds for his ability to make a band drive.
