Hm... Quite a 4003 - honest!
Not sure about both the "lefty" TRC and "unfinished" headstock on it though...

This instrument is fake. Look at it when the pickguard is off. It is not correctly routed out.

John Hall has already commented on the instruments in question, and they are real RIC basses.

Any word on what the other 5 look like? This one sure is ugly, but I'd be curious to see the others..

I've seen 3 up on Ebay - they're all pretty much the same style of finish but in a different shade.
As well as this blue-tinged effort there's been yellow & red edged ones.
None, IMO, particularly inspiring
Can we have a bit more talent in the monitors please.....?

Honestly, to me these are so ugly, but that's just me. I guess Ric tried and sometimes it comes out nice and other times not !!!

Ric didn't do those nasty paint jobs.

"In 2007 Chris Squire from the band YES commissioned 6 Rickenbacker 4003 Specials to be constructed. They were then shipped from the US sent to the UK's famous painter to the stars Paul Karslake for a special Airbrush finish on the front which was carried out in 2010."
