Paul, why, to start a coloraholics support group??? Hahaha!

Seriously, I seem to like the 90s bright ones.

I think my favorite shade is the one on Ron's 2007 360:

But I won't be rushing out to refinish my own 2000 4003S/5 MID any time soon!

I'm not a huge fan of blue guitars, but you're right. This would look great done up to vintage specs! That's an awesome blue!

The darker the better IMO...and the latest has a purple/aqua flop that's gorgeous, too.

Hmm...checkerboard with MID on a 4001/4003...who wants one?

Much as I love to see wood grain, that would be very tempting...

My opinion is that the camera or lighting conditions are a very large factor here.

For future reference, it would be rather convenient to have a color card or even just a gray card in the photo so there's at least some chance to make the images comparable. Of course, everyone would have to have the same card if you wanted to go to the next step of assuring that our monitors are adjusted the same. Something like this would work nicely:

If that card looks gray to me, is it my monitor or am I color-blind? :?: :?: :?:

Paul, did you know that they have these new technological wonders called color monitors? They're actually quite affordable these days...

Thank God it's only my monitor. Painting these Graybursts is getting motonous, though.

IMO the original Midnght Blue is truest to its nameske and still my fav of all of the MIDs.

Especially in that photo!

Seriously, though, Ken--the original was a two-step color, like Ruby--a transparent blue tint over a silver base. So, also like Ruby, the "Original MID" can vary in shade quite a bit.
