Robert, my '72 (pre-skunk) is by far my favourite of the 100 or so Ric basses I've played......and yes I have played a C Series. I've also owned a '71 21 fretter, a '73, a '76, an '80, a 4003s8, 2xCSs, a V63, a '73 4000.....you get the picture.

Hi Henry, Very cool, I've owned several and played a ton of Ricks over the years too, some great ones, some not so much. Yeah I like my '72 a lot but depending on which Rickenbacker I'm playing at a given moment that one becomes my fav. Strange I know... from a playing perspective the '72 and '86 4003 are neck and neck (pun intended) on which is better, they are both great players for sure and share the number one spot. But right now my 4004C is getting the most playing time.

Very nice bass, congrats. Man I got to get some pix of my Ricks, I have a Cii as well as the Cheyenne.

t***t and t***n are in a bidding war. t***t obviously doesn't know how to play the ebay game and is driving the price way up by bidding in 100.00- 200.00 increments to try to top t***n's reserve bid. He has done this every time t***n bids over him. Right now t***n's bid is showing is 3000.00, a smart person would bid 4000.00 if he really wanted the bass that bad, not go up in 100.00 increments, that makes it very easy to know what his hidden bid is if he tops t***n again, t***t will lose or pay a very high price.
I always use auctionsniper if I bid on anything expensive, it puts your bid in at with about 5 seconds to go, no way for another to outbid you or raise the price way up in that time. I don't even bid with ebay's system. Prevents bidding wars like this, this is great for the seller though.
That bass seems to be in very nice shape for a 72.

This bass had a $3K reserve. You can tell because the bids went from $2600 to $3000. The top bidder may have gone over $3000, but the top bid is showing as $3K because the reserve was met and there are no other bids over the reserve right now.

Not until t***t puts in another eigth 100.00 bids to top t***n's reserve bid again

Interesting, it was at $3000, now it's down to $2100 with the reserve again unmet. Someone musta had second thoughts and retracted their bid...

Time is ticking by. Not much left. I think it just may well tank.

Reserve not met at just over $2.5K. That was a roller coaster. Maybe someone thought they would prefer a '71 instead...
