I contacted them earlier in the week. So far (outside my local dealer), they are the "leader in the clubhouse".
Gary is a straght forward no BS kinda guy. I've purchased a Hofner Bass & the 360 12 and bothe Guitars are beautiful and sound great. Looks and condition flawless. Both Guitars came in the wrapper. Neither were ever played by anyone other than the Factory guys and Gary while doing the Set up. The Ric's Set up slipped a bit due to the difference in winter weather from Wisconsin to Palm Springs, Ca. Wished it wouldn't have but not a big deal. It's not that far off from where I like it but I'm picky.

Good Luck, keep us......Posted :)

Gary is a great guy and terrific to deal with. I have bought at least 10 instruments from him and have a a wonderful experience each time. Each time the instrument is ready to play out of the box or darn close. He takes extreme care in boxing and shipping. He's just a good guy.

Try Chris Clayton at Pick of the Ricks. (856) 782-7300. His prices are unbeatable, and he's a true Rick expert.

Ended up ordering it from my local dealer friend (Mainley Music, Ellsworth Maine). Chris is a stand up guy and I have a bit of patience.

THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART...

Nah...i ordered it new from a shop that did not have one on order. Prolly 2 years before they get it.

There should be a system for those that are ordered and already sold, and those that are bought for stock. (although they prolly dont stay in "stock" for very long...

larsongs wrote:I just got a new Ric 360 12 String from North Coast Music. Gary, the Owner, told me Rickenbacker only does 2 Runs of 12 Strings per year. One in the Spring & one late Fall. Fairly limited Production.
I hate to contradict a good dealer but that's a ridiculous statement. This year is no different than any other and I see 7 runs of them on the schedule between January and October 2011 (which is the last month currently fully scheduled).

Bread and butter instruments (e.g. 330,360,620,4003) are in the 9 to 12 month range. Less common models are in the 12 to 18 month range, and some specialized ones, like 381's could be 24+ months. This is always subject to change, given both increasing production and varying order patterns.

Thanks for the info, John. Very glad to see you've made significant headway on the B&B models. That has to be rewarding, considering the efforts expended to do so.

That is great news John! I look foward to the jingle jangle of those vintage pickups in my 330/12...maybe even this year!

Great company....transparent CEO.

I just got a screaming deal from Chris Clayton (POTR) on a 2011 360/12 FG and had Chris install Toasters and TI flatwounds. Should be receiving the shipment by March 29th.....can't wait. Chris is a great guy to do business with....very personable and offers superior customer service.
