I hope he has a humidifier in that room somewhere, if he has dry heat coming out of that register directly under the collection, he could be in trouble.

Given the decoration I'd call it a Man Kiva. 8)

My first thought was that Elys Rand was back showing off again.

well, nothing, actually. my mancave, my pride and joy. but, no bass guitars . . .

it's time (as soon as finances permit)!

i'm only a hobby player only, but why not go first class? big GAS for a 4003, midnight blue . . .

affirmation and encouragement welcome! thanks, eljayski
Beautiful! why no Bass Guitars?

Maybe he doesn't play bass. Remember he's only a "hobby" guitar player.

This is true. I have always considered myself a bassist first but have always had at least one guitar around for noodling, writing songs, etc. It just seems natural to have a different instrument in my reach for a fresh perspective on music.

Agreed- not enough Rics.. (only 2, and nary a 12 string in sight?) And a couple or three basses would definitely enhance the picture. Also, I note with some alarm a lack of Gretsch products... perhaps they're on the wall behind the camera?

Also- How high is the ceiling in that room? Seems more like a cathedral than a cave (also apropos).

Nice display, nice rugs, nice room. I'd love to display mine like that, but the dust, the dust, the dust and.....

the dust.

Cheers!

thanks for the kind comments! here is a view of the mankiva from the second floor. note the dust on the ceiling fan blades. :(

since the pic was taken, a gretsch g5120 has joined the crew. one of the teles is a 12-string.

my ric owner's credentials:

fireglo is my favorite ric finish but i'm leaning toward midblue for my 4003, for some reason.

I'll take the rug way above the fireplace, thank you! We have only one Navajo rug, plus a couple sand paintings and a shield.

navajo/hopi/zuni stuff is a major interest of mine; the collection stopped growing when i got back into guitars a couple of years ago . . .

A cigar shop Indian chief or a Gretsch Super Axe couldn't hurt, only add to the caliber! A nice axe or a nice rug, no matter how displayed, can only add to the splendor of a great room! So vast...

Is that a Jaguar in the lower right corner? I have a '65 with a DiMarzio in the bridge position..reminds me of that one there...

...but as i look again , it appears you still have the single coil in the bridge position. I mistook the bridge and pickup together as a dual-coil...
