You think your Ric has a fast neck?
Just wait until you've experienced it with your tongue!
Relick the neck over and over - make your licks sound even better!

I'd rather opt for reliq-ing, -able etc.

I think resale value went up 2 fold. :)

I could never ever bring myself to do this to a guitar. This is just absolute madness! Guitar circles? Really.? What Guitar circles would those be? The ones at the sanitarium? Here of some signs of the apocalypse in no particular order:

-wars on a global scale
-famine
-pestilence (sickness and disease)
-lawlessness (crime)
-people trying to relic perfectly good guitars so that they can either sell them for a profit or think they look cool and think it makes them a better player
-earthquakes

Just so you know, I was being sarcastic. That particular image is from a rather hilarious thread on the MLP Forums where a user "relic'd" his Les Paul and also tried to un-weight relieve it by adding lead weights to routes in the body.

The only word derived from "relic" that has a "Q" in it, that I'm aware of, is "reliquary". This is a container for a relic.

Why does Max remind folks of Elys? I want to say, "me, too", but can't figure out just why that would be...

So what's the proper spelling of relic[k]ing or even reliquing? Try a-b-u-s-e.

In English, yes, but relic- is not by origin an english word. The c > q transition makes sense to me as linguist.

I can't figure it out at all, either - no idea what the connection in people's minds is there. Must be a cultural thing

I never gotten anyway, why one would want a new guitar that looks like it's 50 years old.
Either you're a poser, or insane, or both... like going to the VW dealer and asking for a reliqed ( :P ) 2011 Jetta and paying the full price for it.

You'd have to pay twice the full price of an unnonderelickq'd® one in it if you want it relickq'd®.

Sorry Erik, I never picked up on the sarcasm... I thought you were dead serious.

This is kind of the guitar equivalent of dodgy antique dealers that beat newish furniture with chains to give it that distressed over time look. It just doesn't work. You may be able to get something resembling the look, but the feel of an instrument worn away naturally over time is something hard to mimic.
