I have a kyser capo that I use with my acoustics, but there is a clear rubber pad on the neck side that I am afraid would eat the finish of my Rick.
I love the Kyser, but just don't leave it on your guitar for long periods of time. One evening I was playing some Buddy Holly stuff on my '57 Reissue Stratocaster (finished maple fingerboard) and left the capo on overnight. The next morning when I removed the capo it had left two dark discoloration marks from it's black rubber pad. They wouldn't rub off, but did fade out in a few weeks.

I also own the Shubb capo discussed above and find it works well, too.

I did use Kyser's, but went to Shubb, and G7th Proffesionals. There's no doubt a Kyser will do the trick, but so would a vise. A Kyser is much easier to put on though, and fits in your case better. :D

I have two Shubbs, but this one is the best of them: Image

I have a Kyser and the cheaper, non-roller, Shubb. They both work on my 12-strings. I find the Kyser easy for one hand, but I hate the way the curly-q thing squeezes my fingers. The Shubb is adjustable, but I have to use two hands to put it on. I've wanted to try one of the G7s, but can't justify the cost--how many capos do I really need?

Kyser! It's easy to use and you can clip it on your headstock when not in use.
Next would be the Shubb. I have an Ovation Legend cutaway A/E 12-string that I keep tuned down a full step and capo at the second fret. I just leave the Shubb there, and if I need to capo higher, I use the Kyser.

Always use a Kyser, nothing else floats my boat.
