And that smell lasts a long time, too. My '96 still smells good and its **** is still ticking.

Harry, obviously this is a unique and abnormal case (sorry, couldn't resist)...if it were common, would it have been posted?

Rick cases are made by a firm that makes cases for lots of manufacturers as well as for the retail trade.

Usually people swoon (in a good way) when they open a new Rick case.

Incidentally, I just bought a couple nice G&G cases for Rick 3330/360s. They smell sooooo good--what lots of folks used to think was the guitar, is the case materials.

Bad enough I don't know what I originally wrote (I was in a hurry)... But still have no answer regarding this supposedly "new" case! Normally, new cases and guitars smell great! I was looking forward to that part of the experience as well... But this smells awful!

I've got SKB cases that smell like vanilla, chocolate, fruit cocktail, one smells like shoe polish and another smells just like the case that my brother's '66 Gibson Firebird came in.

If it's a new guitar, contact Ric customer support. If it's a used guitar, buy another case.

Be careful! You can really hurt yourself trying to smell your ***!

Typically, the smell you get from a new case is outgassing of the glues used to fasten the fuzzy material to the foam or the foam to the case. Usually, it isn't unpleasant, but . . . .

And please, no 'Ricky'. Bad enough the Brits use it.

Always fascinates me how some people get tetchy about the usage of the word `Ricky`I suppose we all use the English language and shorten the whole words into informal words and phrases. Some folks OD to the Max bout Vocab but i Suppose im not getting that Vibe.Savvy.

RIC doesn't make the case, so if it's a new guitar, contacting SKB customer support might be better.

Since RIC packed the guitar in the case, shouldn't they be contacted first? Or the store where the bass was bought?

LOL that's good! Do you have one that smells like Surf n' Turf? Just to mix it up?
