Man, watching those clips, were like watching one of those disaster movies.
Kinda freaked me out.
Thoughts, hopes & prayers for all those touched by this disaster.

Whenever I have a bit of negativity in my life caused by inconvenience, I remind myself of many people's real tragedies. Life isn't that bad for most, for others, just facing the next day seems insurmountable. Blessings to all who currently suffer!

I can't even imagine what they're going through over there. Where do you start with the clean up? If it were me, would I want to stay and rebuild?
It's gonna take
years.
Ouch!

It moved the entire Japanese Island chain nearly 9 feet. Shifted the earth's axis 6.5 inches. Really scary stuff going on here..

One has to wonder how that might change the forces on other faults around the world, especially around the Pacific rim. Lets hope it doesn't spawn a whole series of big quakes and such, especially in places like the San Andreas fault zone...

I have a friend in Sendai, it took a day and a half for her to locate her mom. And a friend here in SoCal has over 20 relatives there from whom they heard nothing for days. Glad to say thay're all alright. Can you imagine the pain of not knowing the fate of your loved ones in such a situation?
The people affected are carrying on with dignity and respect. My condolences and admiration for them.

It's really awful. My ex wife is from Japan and we used to live there. Our son was born in Japan and he is bilinguial. His grandparents, aunt and cousins all live in Shiga Pref nearer to Kyoto so they are all fine. Still her dad is from Sendai and has alot of friends from northern Japan. We were there when they had the earthquake in Kobe during the '90s but this is so much worse.
