I'm away for the day and I come back to cantaloupe!

I have the guitar in my hands and its fabulous and sounds amazing.

The serial number dates it to September 1968!

I'll be stripping her down for a good clean tonight and I'll take pictures as i go along.

Now this is an odd one.

The guitar is a 1968 370 OS.

Looking behind the pickguard it says 365 OSX, somewhere along the line someone changed their minds.

Truss rods look fine.

Do the pots look right for 1968?

Sure, Startrekenbackers were the latest craze at the end of the 60s!
Cool feature is when you plug it in, it says "working"!

Cool guitar, when do we finally get to see pictures of the guitar in full? Seems like it has a pattern to die for on the top!

The guitar had one owner from new. He played and gigged with it up until the early 80's.
It was around this time that the original tuners were changed.
Looking across the body of the guitar from a shallow angle you can see lots of dings from it's touring days, but looking at it face on you don't see these. One of the benefits of flamed maple I suppose. :)

Now just to get a new set of strings on this baby.

You can't really see the flame so well in artificial light.
Here is a better photo that the seller sent me.

WELL DONE Rob! :)

What a stunning guitar -- it looks mint, and the flame is amazing!

How does the backside look?

They sure had some great wood in '68, and they appear to have saved it for the MG OS models -- here is the '68 365 OS I used to own, and i'll bet your serial number is only a few digits from this one:
