Has anyone mentioned Brian Wilson yet?

Pet Sounds was not only the precursor to Pepper, it also moved Macca's bass playing in a new direction.

I won't argue that Brian Wilson "could" play bass, and did play bass on early tours, and likely wrote bass lines for much of their music. But I've been under the impression that studio musicians such as Carol Kaye and maybe Joe Osbourne "played" most of the bass lines on the familiar recordings. Yes?

I uses to listen to XTC all the time. Mummer was always my fav. I have Japan Tin Drum but could never get into it. Never listened to the Magazine. Didn't a guy from the Buzzcocks start that group.
