Guys, I'm guessing English is not Toby's native language....

hi,

let me first say that as an Englishman English is very much my first language.

Maybe i'm being too sensitive but i found the tone of Werner/wildberry's reply pretty unpleasant. I thought it was my fault for adding my question to an existing question so i started a new one but i got castigated for that as well :/ i know forums each have their own delicate etiquette and one attempts to adhere to them, if not always successfully.

Perhaps if i show a picture of what the cable on my HB1 looks like you'll see that being told to change the green and blue wires didn't make a lot of sense since it looks like just one wire and one shield...

Image

Stripping it back i see that the other wire and the shield had been bound and soldered together so i separated them.

I reversed the phase and now it sounds good.

Thanks all.

You're welcome  Anyway, it wasn't meant rude, more as 2 eurocents that starting a thread wouldn't be a good idea.

And I wasn't trying to denigrate, but explain to all a possible reason for your confusion. In the other thread, I answered your question about swapping them short and sweet to try to make it clear. I like the video you did showing all the tones you can get with this configuration - a lot! That ought to keep you going for a while.

Maybe the problem really was the fact that we didn't speak British.
