Welcome and congrats, Joe!

As others have stated, Blue Boy can have a greenish cast to it (it's caused by yellowing of clear coat, IIRC). At one of our Southernb California Confluences, we had two 4003 basses in BB and one had a distinctly green cast to it compared to the other one when they were placed side-by-side. Yours looks great! :)

Sweet looking guitar, congrats! I actually had a thread up about it while it was up for auction but I can't seem to find it anymore. I had never seen one and was curious about lefty Rick prices.

Was this thread removed for some reason??

Edd: It may have been removed in error. Do you recall the title of the thread?

Hmmm, it might have been simply the name of the auction, "2004 Rickenbacker 330 Left-hand, Light Blue". I'm not sure. Not a whole lot was said. There were welcomings to the forum and opinions of going prices for various models as lefties that was helpful.

I thought you guys removed it because the guy was essentially asking for an appraisal, with less than 30 posts. :?

Yes, a post was removed for that reason, but I wanted to make sure that it was the post to which Edd was referring. :)
Thanks Edd that was the post in question.

Ah, I see. My bad. I shall give the forum rules a read. I did find the Rick Resource Register and that is still helpful for getting an idea.

Congrats on your acquisition Joe and welcome to the RRF.... :)
I think that Lefty Blue Boy is pretty sharp looking and very glad you got a good price!

wondering if I should add the accent vibrato ?

Post by joshcamp »

thanks again to all the congratulatory wishes !

I love the guitar and have been glued to it despite being a devout tele guy. This being my first ric. i'd always wanted one, but somehow passed on it for a long time. this one spoke to me.

That being said, the only thing i would like to have had on it is the accent vibrato. I love vibratos. i'm thinking of buying one to try. any thoughts on this ? I figure it would be a simple, non-destructive addition . however, my guitar being lefty poses a challenge - are these available in lefty version ? or, would i have to settle on a right handed model and use it in reverse ?

any thoughts on that ?

Exact my feeling I had (and have!) with my actual...

And that is just the beginning. Or as the Beatles said: "...You don't know how lucky you are, boy..." - Or You will be in future.

That You keep it right, there is no doubt to me. I love every well treated instrument. And I love to see pictures of them.

The tremolo:
There is the original way (european page), the LH version:

Whatever You decide: all holes for screws will stay. A Bigsby is nice, but a similar decision like a tattoo.
You should be totally sure...

I think I have seen a Us company that offers tailpieces and tremolos without further holes for installing. The Users from there will know more.
