i have used and like roto 66's -they definitely have a particular sound.,,but have found that i really prefer a smoother feeling roundwound, and also i tend to like nickle roundcore strings,so i have been using DR sunbeams on most of my basses for the last 5 or so years. IIRC,Rotosound used to have a string i liked better than their 66's,,but they were a smooth "linea finish" string with an exposed core for the bridge side. i also remember them being pricey....Percy Jones was one of their endorsers....

I like them but I have gone to some cheaper brands for the moment (because they are cheaper)

emac.
In the UK I can get Rotos for approx £15 UK per set. DRs are £25 UK +. Rotos are actually some of the cheapest strings you can buy here.

They aren't all that spendy here either. On-line retailers carry them for around $19 (about £12) per set. There's usually some shipping, but if you buy more than 1 set it spreads that cost out a bit...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

The strings I'm using at the moment sound like a cross between Rotosounds and Daddarios and last longer than either of them + they cost $50 for three sets delivered...

Yes they are a Korean made string but don't knock them until you have tried them....
The tension is well compatable with my RM1999 and I also use them on the S/5..

Their guitar strings are kind of horrid though....
