I just figured the price would go too high for me, so I didn't even play! It would be nice to own a one-off!

The statement of John Hall in this thread sounded like he was somehow desillusioned about offereing all these beautiful "one of"s, like maybe he felt a little lack of appreciation. It's always (well, nearly always  ) fellow forumite Craig Witty who seriously wants to win these auctions (congrats Craig!). Maybe JH is thinking now is it worth all the efforts when there is only one bidder interested in such an outstanding guitar ? And to be honest : this guitar for that price is a REAL bargain ! I fear we won't see another "one of" for a long time. I hope I am wrong.

wow, what a pretty guitar!

Given what Rickenbacker's production schedule must be like trying to fulfill orders, with the commitment to standard models that it must entail, I do hope this is a trend that continues, even if only sporadically for now. Wow.

You get all the one of's I check your website rather frequently to see the latest Ricks!
I really like that 330 you thought was harngelb, that was great looking.

Pretty big talk from someone that just showed up in these parts a few months ago, guns blazing. Judging from your previous posts, you obviously have an axe to grind with us, so I doubt there will be any constructive discussion with you at this point. For now, I'd just like to know if there are any other insults you'd like to heap on us besides calling us idiots?

Gee, Matt
We usually try to be a little more polite on this Forum and it's not supposed to be a venue for complaints and the like.
:( :( Even if you are frustrated by the waiting period to get a Ric, please think about how strongly worded commentary might come off to others and maybe try and put a best foot forward, in a constructive manner. Thanks.

Ben I have dealt with the post by Matt behind the scenes and I have deleted both the original post and your reference to it in your post. For greater certainty I draw everyone's attention to our rules.

Rules 3 and 4 for your edification:

3. Posts shall not be rude, offensive or nonsensical.

4. Posts shall not show apparent disrespect for others, including RIC and its employees

Attacks of this nature whether they be on RIC or any of our members are prohibited and will not be tolerated.

We try to deal with this sort of thing as quickly as we can, once the issue is brought to our attention. Fortunately we do not see too much of this sort of thing anymore.

I read Matt's most recent post before he buried himself, and it seems to have been written just to stir up the folks and get attention. It's an opinion, of course, and not a very informed one: the type of thing that floats a disagreeable premise and then constructs the foundation last. Rabble-rousing nonsense.

I've got to check my emails and see what Matt and I had to say to each other last year. I get roughly a couple of dozen inquiries a month, lots of which are just talk. This must have been one of those, because I don't recall it.

On the subject of "kudos", I'd like to thank Brian and Joey and all the other RRF moderators, who put in a lot of effort to keep this the best music themed forum on the net !!

Where's the delete button when you need it. Gee thanks Rich. That was not necessary, but the sentiment is very much appreciated.

What I wanna do to make my own one off someday (with JH's permission) is get a 4001C64 in fireglo, and somehow have it checkerbound, and have reverse CPI's, so its like if someone looked at a lefty 1967 4001 in a mirror.

I guess it was lucky I was off white-water rafting when this all happened, otherwise I might have been tempted to use my paddle here instead!
