Just thought I'd give you an update on this one. I've had it back for a couple of months now and it has never played as sweetly as it does now.

I no longer feel like my fingers have been dipped in tar when venturing below the 12th fret. It now compares favourably in playability to my Gretsch 6119, which has the easiest/fasest playing neck of any guitar I've owned.

Thanks again to Paul W for getting it back to being the great player I bought years ago.

PS: Paul, I haven't scuffed up the back as yet, but I have broken a bit more binding off the neck!

A pleasure and a challenge, Rod.

I'm using a different term for a partial restoration that is sympathetic of the age and wear patterns of the instrument.

Instead of a "restoration", I've been calling this a "recommissioning", which means getting something old but serviceable, ready for service once again.

Your Rick is a beauty with heart. I'm glad it's making you smile.

I'm glad Ricks are not like horrible Harleys with their ****** quality
