Chris Brubeck's '69 has a wide center piece, like mine. Who can say....
Re: Skunk Stripe
Can you post a full size picture of your bass, the one in your avatar I'm guessing?jayfbv wrote:Chris Brubeck's '69 has a wide center piece, like mine. Who can say....

A subjective question, but, in my mind, there's no doubt that James's bass is not a faker.coolhandjjl wrote:So those are fakenbackers?

"Sorry, James, but there's no way that instrument was produced in our factory. It's not a Rickenbacker by any stretch of the imagination".
Rickenbacker player since 1978

Dredge...dredge...Brubeck has the reciept for his '68...I've never seen a third with that wide a center piece.
I need to get some new shots. I changed to a Hipshot bridge.

Re: Skunk Stripe
Hey James: Do the side dots on your '69 line up with the frets or with the fingerboard dots?
Can we have everything louder than everything else?
Re: Skunk Stripe
The neck binding was a shambles and I had it redone in '82 or '83, so the dots are traditional, not like on a fretless. No help, huh?FretlessOnly wrote:Hey James: Do the side dots on your '69 line up with the frets or with the fingerboard dots?

Re: Skunk Stripe
That is a standard G&L. I have the pickup wired like the L1000 bass, so it has parallel humbucking, series humbucking, and single coil. If it didn't sound so good, I would get a proper set of Ric pickups.RicOSoundMan wrote:James what kind of pick up is that? just curious??
