And yet he's considering a refin. I can imagine with so many blue basses around. :)

:) Thanx.

I still wonder who owned it previously (besided Graham just before me). He/She must have played the heck out of it, but at the same time have been carefull with it. There are not many dings, electronics work just fine. No structural damage at all. The bridge cover is still there. But she looks as if she has been around the world at least three times.

Hey Graham;

Your site is GREAT! Do you own the 1974 4005WB? What is that burgundyglo? Ever see a 4005 in azurglo (blue)?? I bet that would be interesting. I have a 1978 4001 in that color. Again Great site I really enjoyed looking thru it! Russ

I just found the register. So I've seen the auzerglo. Also saw a lightshow! WOW. Is that the only 4005 lightshow? Not sure I'd want to own that one. Persoanlly I like Graham's 1974 Burgundy the most very classy looking. I'll be buying a Maple or a flireglo....Graham if you own that burgundy & ever need to sell it look me up!

I always assumed that this '70s 4005 (owned by an ex-bandmate) was a re-fin 'cause I've never seen this color on a Ric.

Kinda hard to tell from the quality of the photo, but if this is not a refinish, then it is either a solid Walnut (no burst) or a Burgundy, the lighter type that might look a little brownish in this photo. Solid Walnut finish is pretty rare compared with the uncommon standard Walnut burst:

He does and that bass plays and sounds just great. It used to belong to John B (sloop_john_b), who played it out a lot.

Says the man who changed the well used, but not abused shoes of his recently bought CS to blinking shinny RIHS shoes. ;-)

We have at lease a dozen 4005 WB basses in the Register.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
