As a musician, singer and songwriter, Macca at his very worst is about ten orders of magnitude better than me....

I know his heart is usually in the right place, but his instincts can definitely be a bit suspect. I'm a huge fan, I'll smile and sing along to "My Brave Face" if it comes on but even I went for a pee during "Freedom". I actually refuse to acknowledge that "Spies Like Us" even happened.

Band On The Run and Venus And Mars were always my faves. Red Rose Speedway was damn good as well as Ram. Didn't care much for his first solo album. I know people love it, but it was and feels like a bunch left overs that should have been B sided. Of course Maybe I'm Amazed is a classic.

Interesting,"my brave face" is one of my favorite post- beatle macca moments,co written with Elvis Costello. To me,That is a perfect 3 minute pop construction, with really good harmony vocals from Linda as well. Mostly since the 70's there hasn't been much of his new stuff that's caught my ear.
