Not to humidity, but it will respond to temperature changes. Although aluminum isn't a great heat conductor, I've read that these necks will make tuning tough if you don't give them time to acclimate to gig conditions. Probably not too big of a big deal as long as you don't show up last minute, pull it out of an air conditioned car and play outside on a 90 deg day.

NIce bass, Jeff! I'll bet the growl is nice and tight.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

I need to get the frets leveled/replaced (some of them, anyway) and I have a set of strings on the bass that I pulled off my G&L JB-2 that have some kinks in them so I can't really comment on some aspects of the bass, at the moment. All will be dealt with soon enough, but I feel the biggest hindrance to good tuning are the Schaller tuners, they just don't have enough precision in them, so once I do the frets I may see about Hipshot Ultralite tuners.

Marc, when you come in for GilFest® II you can check out the bass, the wood looks amazing when you can really see the depth to the grain and figuring in it. :D

Congrats Jeff! 8) I almost bought one of those, back in the early '80's. I didn't like the coldness of the metal neck either. Now you're gonna give me your 4004L Ruby?
