Hmmmm...I think it's actually upside down, but at least it has the correct shape.

I have a feeling we won't be hearing from Pitchman, anymore.

Probably not Jeff. As you can tell from my first post in this thread, I received a number of complaints about his initial and also what may well be his final post on the subject.

Unfortunate, as the RRF offers so much to folks, and we don't ask much from them in return.

Thanks for all the input. I am confused again. The headstock on the C64 is not only reversed but is is huge in comparison to the V63. The tuners on the C64 are different and also nickel and not chrome.

Again, if you're into the correct vintage vibe (as I am) the C64 is the one. The '97-up V63s just weren't right, and most of their hardware never was.

I am very confused by some of the politics here. jps suggested to another member that he should buy one of my basses so I get in trouble. Too much drama when I was really only seeking advise but then prompted by jps to sell it. Go figure.

Apparently there was an ASSUMPTION by some members here that you were attempting to sell one of the basses in your post. I didn't take it that way, but several members did and sent a PRIVATE MESSAGE to the moderator complaining about this since you had less than the prerequisite 30 posts requred before you can sell stuff here. I prefer a more direct means of communication, but as long as some don't, THAT is the politics you speak off.

Wrong Dane!!!! Do not jump to conclusions without knowledge of the facts. In doing so you are guilty of intentionally stirring the pot.
The OP offered his bass for sale here. I deleted that post and the edited his original post to make sure that nobody else got the wrong impression. Clearly the unedited initial post could have been read as a fishing expedition.
End of story. If I read any more of this nonsense I will make more edits to this thread.

Rick,
Just read the rules and all will be clear for you.

FYI, not everyone looks at the post count of new members or even the section that a thread is in. Some of us browse the forum via active topics. Jeff (jps) is a well respected and long term member member here and I am reasonably sure he was either joking with you or he did not realise at the time what section you had posted in.

Rick, I apologize if I confused you. At first you seemed to just be looking for opinions from us on which we would prefer between two different basses if we had to keep only one, there was no harm in that.

It was once you stated that one was for sale and where it would be available for sale that you crossed the line for new members; this is a clear rule of membership for a number of reasons that have been discussed in related threads. That is all. I do have to admit that after I noticed your user name I took that as an implication of
pitching a product as a sales
man would, hence the feeling you joined the RRF primarily to sell a bass. Sorry about that if that was not your primary intent for joining.

I think the direction this thread ought to take is the excellant suggestion that CJ made in the beginning !!

To the original post,i would say that i would keep the bass i preferred overall. I am not a big fan of the c64 reverse look, but if were the better feeling,or better sounding bass, that's what i would keep. I now have 2 4004 series basses, both made in the same year, that are not exactly alike, weight, neck feel vary on them,if i had to decide to sell one,i would have a hard time. (my cii actually feels lighter and slimmer, and has a better playing action than my laredo, but the laredo has some redeeming points as well...
