I always wanted an old P Bass and this will be close enough for my projects. It will also pair up nicely with my Blackguard Tele!

Actually, I seem to remember back in the day writing lots of songs on a Bass--maybe that's the secret ingredient?

Nice and light at 8.3 pounds, a big 'ole slab but comfy, a great big C neck, perfect fit, Lollar pickup sounds great!

The Rickenbacker 4001S is a real Road Warrior--played 10 hours a day for 40 years--pics below----

Welcome to the RRF Frank! A lovely bass. What are your impressions of the tone/feel now that you've had the chance to play her...

I'm considering putting mine in a root cellar for the winter, maybe let some mushrooms grow on it...to get a similar effect? (no good comes from false relic-ing.....)

I love seeing an old white bass that has discoloured to that lovely creamy tone.

Wear on a bass needs to be original, signs of a hard working life.. none of this relicing for me!!
