How does one actually fit a spring reverb into such a tiny box?

Hey, Paulie says he knows of a spring reverb pedal, I was just throwing an alternative!

The blonde tolex box in my pedal board is an actual spring reverb pedal-a Van Amps Sole Mate.

I have no idea how the Fender/Boss pedal sounds.

The EH Holy Grail is an awesome sounding SS reverb pedal though; incredibly swampy verb out of that thing!

Someone mentioned volume pedals - since I've got a couple of steel guitars, I was thinking a volume pedal would be nice to have. Wow! I might actually need a pedal board!

So, what do folks recommend and why?

No lie! Paul has the biggest board I've ever seen, and it's pretty awesome!

Definitely the simplest setup I've ever used.

Ok I'll play:
Overview Snake panel Power panel.

Made this myself. 24"x18". All power supplies are tucked under the top deck. Power panel accepts standard IEC cord and has an auxiliary outlet for more pedals or whatever (fused at 10A). Main power in is a 60hz filtered inlet connector. Snake side has regular jacks for the pre-amp outs from my Phaez amp head (each channel has it's own loop out) and 1 return to the power section of the head. Neutrik jack is to connect to the front input (instrument) on the head. I painted it with Duratex and then attached the pedals. Line6 G50 Relay wireless feeds the lower deck ->Road Rage AB (selects wireless or regular cable)->Peterson Tuner->Volume pedal->Wah->Diamond compressor->MI Audio Crunch Box->Send to instrument in on amp. Preamp loop-ins feed Road Rage AB (lower one) for channel selection->Line 6 M5 (mods)->Timebender Delay->FRV-1 '63 Reverb-> down to the MI Audio Boost'n'Buff-> return to amp head.

I have one of these on my pedalboard that I brought to SCARF and it's the bees knees for reverb. I thought you might have plugged into it and the AC30HW at SCARF.

It's a modeling pedal, but absolutely nails the '63 Fender Reverb unit.

It's a modeling pedal, but absolutely nails the '63 Fender Reverb unit.

I have one on my board as well. It is a pretty good substitute for a real spring box, less expensive and a lot smaller. It can sound brittle and overly percussive at times, however, and requires judicious use of the depth and tone controls to sound really good. But it works well. Not great for ambient type reverb, but can go all Dick Dale on you if you need it to.

... and I need it to.

Using a Rick-o-sound setup. Neck pickup goes to top compressor. Bridge pickup goes through everything else.
