So Kenny, does this mean you're gonna have to move again, or is it just a temporary thing?
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

My stuff stays in Dallas with Debonee, so I'll be staying at the Riviera and flying back for visits. It's a heck of a commute, but there's some cheap flights.cjj wrote:So Kenny, does this mean you're gonna have to move again, or is it just a temporary thing?

Best wishes with the gig, Kenny!
I was in Vegas in Sept, will have to see if another trip is in order in the spring (and hope you are still playing there).

Wow! If you get out to Las Vegas while this show is going on it gets my highest recommendation
Three piece band, Kenny on a 12 string bass, all the Smithereens hits, some Beatles, Some Buddy Holly, some Ramones, great stories, all rolled up in a nice intimate setting. Pat's voice was PERFECT! (and I got to meet him after the show)
The highlight of my Vegas trip. Thanks again!

Re: My new job - Vegas with Pat DiNizio!
Went and saw the show Monday night at the Riviera. Definitely worth it!!
A small crowd was waiting for the show which starts at 11pm, but it was cool when Pat DiNizio comes strolling up before the show and talking to everybody waiting in line. Kenny was carrying a very strange, heavy bag which turned out to be the Hamer 12 string bass, all 30 lbs of glory.
The show was great. The stage is very small (they also have the topless revue in the room) and I noticed both Pat and Kenny had their speaker cabs turned around and the drum kit was enclosed to keep from overpowering the place.
Anyway, the show is definitely worth going to. Very folksy, not like the usual big ticket productions in Vegas .
Sorry I flaked out on the drink after the show, Kenny. The bartender was serving quarts of wine by the glass and the girls were a little "too happy" by the end to walk straight .
Thanks again for a great time!

Kenny, to the toppermost of the poppermost. Congratulations on the nice review.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Yep, still going!
In keeping with this forum, the Hamer 12-string bass was breaking my back, so I'm on a 4001 for the time being.

Too much Rock for Kenny Howes to handle?
Seriously though, I may be heading through Vegas in a few weeks -- I'll give you a call, I'd love to see the show!
