I hate to burst your bubble, but RIC will not comment on the market for used instruments, as they are in the business of selling new instruments.

If the pickup has truly gone bad, and it is a recent model for which the same pickup is still made, in my mind any loss of value occurred the moment the pickup went bad, and it is better to have a guitar that fully functions, albeit with a replacement pickup of the same kind, rather than a broken pickup. But then again, even though I have some very, very nice instruments, including a 4002, my perspective is from a player, not a collector.
