I always have the volume knobs turned up full on all my Rickenbacker guitars. You seem to lose so much of that lovely tone with only the slightest of adjustment.
Recently the lead guitarist in my band said his 360/6 Ric wasn't sounding anywhere near as good as it used to, and he was wondering if there was a fault with a pickup.
I had a look at his guitar and noticed that he had the volume pots turned about half way.
'There's your problem' I said. We whacked them back up full, turned down his amp a little and there we were, back in Rickenbacker heaven. :)

Resurrecting an old thread here. Got my RA number today, and boxed her up, and shipped her off to Santa Ana before the close of business. I'm.....starting to get chills, cold sweats....and the shakes, too.

Don't worry, Jim. I'm sure they'll take good care of her. :)

Your guitar will be about a mile from where I work in Costa Mesa ... :)

Don't worry, Jim, time will pass and it'll be back with you. Like Robert said, the RIC crew will take good care of your pride and joy. It'll give you a chance to return to your acoustics, too.

Being RIckless due to repairs is the perfect rationale for buying a second Rick. . . .
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

I was thinking that also but I did not want to stop his heart.

Yes, having a backup Rick (or 2 or 5 or...) is definitely a good idea...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Beat you guys to it. I've had the thought that a back up Rick is what I need since before I shipped her off.

When does it arrive? What did you buy, something a bit different perhaps, like a 660/12?

Or, better yet, a 4003 in Jetglo?
