This bass is easy to play, even Warren felt he could actually play bass when he played it. Does this help?

Do the TI Flats make it play more smoothly?

I think TI flats have the ability to smooth out the surface of the moon!!  Snow White came with them strung on her, alas I'm not a flats type of guy so I sent them back to Paul B. To each his own! :)

Jeff,

I'm insanely busy this week, but maybe we can work in a visit. 8) The thing is, as far as bass playing goes, I wouldn't know where to start. :( I suppose I could bring over one of my 12'ers so you could hear the Janglebox really shine. But I don't even know where the notes are on a bass neck!

In the interests of having a stress-free holiday, I've decided to postpone the mods on both my Ric 12's until after the New Year. One is a routine pickup swap: scatterwounds and covers for the existing hi gains. The other, which I discussed with you, is more complicated, as it involves creating a new nut and notching a new bridge for my stock 360/12, using that C63 at Sam Ash as a prototype.

By the way, I think that lovely bass at Sam Ash is a new 4003. Could you tell me a little about the 4003 model? 8)

I'll go to Sam Ash tomorrow, probably late morning to check it out, maybe bring the v63 if the temperature is not insanely cold like today.

Playing bass is easy! it only has 4 strings on it. What am I saying?

I can teach you the basics, Robert, it really is not difficult to get going, and the strings and note positions are the same as the bottom four (8 in your case) strings of a guitar in EADG tuning. 8)

Robert
They're the same place as on a guitar neck, only lower...

No, really. On a standard 4 string, it's just the same as the lower 4 strings on a guitar E, A, D, G...
