I would hang onto them both myself... Nothing worse then losing a RIC that you love to death!! :( :( :(

I also prefer them from the late 70s/early 80s myself...

I should have it within a few hours, and you'll get some pics post-haste!

And sorry, guys! My 4003 has already been sold. I didn't have access to the Classifieds thread on Rickresource yet, so I had to use TB (Is that a bad word here?). Anyway, it sold it in less than a day! I think I did underprice it a bit, but I still made a good amount on the turnaround, as I originally got it for a ridiculously low price! Hmm...I'm starting to get good at this...

For those of you who are still looking for your first RIC, keep checking Craigslist! I found both of mine on my local CL, and both were sold by guys who were not bassists (one a drummer, the other a guitarist). When those guys get rid of a bass, they tend to underprice them by a lot. Do a once or twice daily search of your local and nearby Craigslist, and you're bound to luck upon one of those can't-miss deals within a few months.

Good luck!

Congrats, you've found the greatest deal of 2012 so far. Even if you'd paid $1850 for it, you would have got a great deal. Enjoy it!

excellent deal,as the others have said, that's a good year for the v63,feature-wise,these are purported to be pretty close to the originals in most aspects.
congrats!

and if you don't like it,we have a young RRF member who would.....no names, but ya'll know who i'm talkin' about......
You wouldn't happen to be referring to me would you? Still jonesing for that very bass. Lovely find you have there mate, and at a KILLER price if you ask me, since I NEVER see V63s in even halfway decent condition go for less than $2000. Treat her well, and if you ever consider letting her go, let me know.
