Mikko, I made molded badges, among other things, back in the early '70s, using a prototyping process that my company developed.

I've seen this same process used since (albeit sloppily), in a number of counterfeit TRCs which RIC received in exchange, a number of years ago.

However, the counterfeiters are beyond using low-production methods to fake TRCs--they are still too easy to spot.

They've tooled up for real injection-molded fakers. You think they'd take time to do their homework, however--their items (having been tooled and manufactured in China) are way off and also easy to spot...a lot of money spent to fool nobody who knows his or her Rickenbackers.

Paul, Honestly I took the TRC off of my 2011 4003 to adjust the rods a bit, while re installing the cover, the black paint on the last "r" in Rickenbacker rubbed of while I was handling the cover! I posted about it a few months back.. no hard rubbing, solvents anything used either. The smear kind of reminded me of a pencil smear, like how the graphite smears?

I touched it up with a black paint pen as per John Halls recomendation, worked great. (I would not have cared if it had not...... because I love this instrument unconditionally anyhow :D )

By the way, your work looks fantastic!
