BTW, have you gone to see the Keith Haring exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum? It's there until July...go!
Do they have a painted T-40 on display? :D . True, I should.

For some reason appreciation of all fine arts has escaped me. Broadway, Opera, quality artwork...but I did get to a Fallout Boy concert before they broke up

UGH,

HOW did I miss this thread?

CONGRATS EDEN for MANNING UP! ;)

LOL, I've now had about 8 T-40's. Each one was slightly different than the previous. I DID manage to have a Natural one that was only 9.8 Lbs. I had a fretless that topped 13 pounds!

I have only 1 these days, a BEAUTIFUL Sienna Burst that was a gift. The USA Peavey basses are SO under the radar. The USA Fury & Foundation (both can be had for under $200) basically a Peavey version of a JASS & PBASS, have FENDER like tone for PENNIES on the dollar. Thin necks and truly a STEAL for a USA made bass.

If you can get past some of the odd looks of the USA Millennium or B-Quad, you have Alembic type quality again for PENNIES on the DOLLAR.

I have YET to try a Cirrus, but for some reason, Peavey has suspended the USA model for now only offering the Rudy Sarzo version in BLACK. PHOOEY!

Give 'em a try guys, give em a try.

What??? Are you saying you don't like black?????

I guess I'm gonna have to try a Peavey some day. Any comments on 5 string versions?

Some day i would really like to check out the palaedium model they made for Jeff Berlin. I've owned a few peaveys,my favorite was a koa neck through Dyna bass, but well, the t40 is just a bit too much of a good thing for me,i will admit. 8)

A bit optimistic for sure but it is the finest condition one I have probably ever seen. It is also the earliest one I have ever seen (note the headstock outline goes around the TRC not under it....)
In truth mine cost $700 with postage included, but it has the finest grain I have seen on one and it was complete with the early monolith case..

I see it has offers, It is worth $1000 for sure....

They are so huge but so playable at the same time....

I have one coming this week or next. It was a steal. One teensy problem, though - no pickups. Everything else is intact. The hunt begins.

If you plan on using Flats on it, look for the "Rail" pickups as they are more clear sounding. The earlier "Muffin Toasters" are best suited to Roundwound strings as they have a warmer tone with plenty of "Blorf"

The pickups turn up on Ebay from time to time..
