Well, I'm surprised by the three man-months to program for a guitar, but you would know. Other than that, I don't think it's inconsistent with what I was saying. All in all, it sounds like it wouldn't be the enormous investment some have suggested.

That's what I figured, which makes sense.

Hey, I heard that RIC is considering a Capri reissue!

The smart money's on the 4-string. Once the rock and roll fad passes, people will come back to their senses and embrace the tenor guitar.

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, we have again discovered that a picture of a Rickenbacker is worth at least twice that.

I can fully understand why you'd make this comment with regard to a Capri reissue John. Clearly seems like a big job to me.
However, to swap the slash hole jig to an f-hole and use a C63 unbound neck with dot inlays (presumably less work than a bound neck with triangle inlays) would actually produce a 1993 reissue with no extra work/cost (and arguably less for the reason I mentioned) over a 360/12C63. It seems many of your loyal customers are waiting to buy one of these guitars. Perhaps you'd care to give your considered business judgement on that one.

I could see Phil Campbell playing this. Matching Rics a la The Jam, Romantics, etc.

You guys are all whacked; the next three Rick reissues will be the banjoline, the aluminum violin, and the frying pan.

Darn, I was hoping for the electric upright bass.

Excellent!
That photo was from the Saturday evening concert at The Museum Of Making Music at NAMM headquarters, August 26, 2006, during the great RIC 75th Anniversary weekend celebrations. The museum is in Carlsbad, Ca.. south of RIC headquarters in Santa Ana.
