I know you are loving that baby, You will love it more and more as time goes by. Here is a pic of my 2011 FG with the bezel cover installed.

that's a great looking bass! Does the concave cut in those bezels serve any purpose? (thumb rest I would assume) I saw them online and am gonna get one next paycheck

This is looking to be my setup for a pretty good gig I'm playing this weekend. I had to take the bridge pickup cover off, it was starting to cause some battle damage on my right wrist haha..

very nice

paired with Ampeg no doubt it sounds good

Yea, that's an Ampeg V2 tube head... running a 15" (I think it's an old sirwin vega) speaker. It has a lot of thump, and a great all around tone.

I usually run a newer Fender Bronco amp (very small recording amp with a nice XLR output.) and that greatly minimizes stage volume and allows us to get a really great mix.

Joe, For me the concave bezel really does nothing as far as thumb placement, (My thumb is not even in the same zip code as the cove.) Im more of a tuck it behind the E string kind of guy. They are nice though, fills up the gaping hole, which looks better IMO. (Im sure some RIC purists are going to argue though).

Yea... I have really weird thumb placement habits... If im not playing slap then my thumb usually rests on the top curve of the body and stretch pretty far... I'm also notorious for free floating my hand... But sometimes the E string is where I find a home for my thumb lol... Ive seen pics of the bezels, i think they give the bass a nice clean look... I've found myself a few times resting my thumb in the gaping hole left from the pickup cover.... Not the best place for it

First: Congrats on the new 4003. Got mine in January 2012 in Jetglo and love it. I too took my bridge cover off. Just ordered a treble bezel cover with a thumb rest from Pick Of The Ricks LLC out of NJ. Cant wait to get it to see how it work for positioning.
